The specific instructions are:

1.  Winter Texans are allowed to open accounts by mail or upon their return to Mercedes.  (Application Attached)

2.  All Texas residents should have an account opened no later than Nov. 1, 2025

3.  The OSD has specific locations  and schedule dates  assigned for Brush and Bulk.pickup. 

     Do NOT place or store brush/bulk at your curb address.  The city will not pick it up at that location. SEE ATTACHMENTS.

4.  The Park/Resort provided a list of OSD addresses and names to the City.  I believe the City will eventually (Feb./Mar. 2026) cross check the names on that list to the owners who have opened an account; those owners would be in compliance with the City's Solid Waste Ordinance.  Those that have not opened an account would be non-compliant and subject to a potential penalty of $200.00 per day according to the City Ordinance.

Please note:  Once you have opened an account you may put the account on HOLD.  Your deposit will be retained by the City until you return or close your account.  An account on HOLD is considered in compliance with the ordinance.  When your account is on hold, the city will remove your trash bin.

Reminder:  Trash bins should be kept out of view and to the rear of a lot.
